It made me a lot more comfortable with Bash, and also gave me even more first-hand experience than I already had (from various of my other projects) with why it's important to avoid overly monolithic designs where everything is too entangled with everything else. It's a big mess, but some of it is still useful, and I've been using a few things from it for years already. Coding makes me irritable at times, so I had to edit out various swear words. :-) I also converted all mentions of the GNU General Public License to the GNU Affero General Public License. But so far, I haven't changed the mechanics of how the code works.
